In A Writer’s World, Patience Is Paramount

While I haven’t put together a journal entry here in a little while now, it’s not for a lack of effort. I’ve been quite busy since the start of the new year working on various writing projects, which will hopefully open the door to some exciting opportunities.

That’s the plan anyway, and it’s been one that’s required a fair deal of patience. Like with anything in life, without patience, the dream dies. Perseverance is such a vital aspect of seeing any ambitious project through, regardless of what it is. So while my patience may be tested now, I do take solace in the fact that progress is being made each day and that I’m getting a tad bit closer to my goal. There are no guarantees, of course, and it’s been a long process that isn’t yet finished, but it’s one that gets more exciting with each word I type.

To anyone feeling the same way, just know that every struggle fades. As I mentioned on Twitter a few days ago, when it comes to something you really want to accomplish, sitting down and putting the work in seems to make any impatience you have evaporate into thin air. It’s a remarkable feeling, even if it doesn’t always last as long as we’d like. When we sit around and grow stagnant, though, that’s when the impatience is guaranteed to lurk.

Stick with it and embrace those tests of patience. They are what get us to the finish line.
